My name is Marlena Wadley, but most call me "Marlo", a current MSW student from Jane Addams College of Social Work. I've worked in education for 3.5 years. Before my transition to social work, I worked as a Literary Arts teacher. Upon applying, my focus towards mental health wellness fuel my social work passion. However, my tenure as a teacher influenced my position as a School Social Worker.

Originally from Chicago's South Side, I understand the systemic barriers that plague marginalized students of color. Providing support, resources, and empathy to these populations has driven my passion to work in a school setting.
